Behind The Brand

What started as a bumpy ride in Kenya in 2013—where Grace’s chemically straightened hair broke off against a car headrest—sparked a mission: stylish protection for all hair textures.

By early 2014, she prototyped The Slap®: a satin‑lined cap that blends fashion and function. With a nod from a YouTube vlogger, small Etsy sales skyrocketed, and by September 2014, Grace Eleyae Inc. was born.

Built on a family-rooted vision of “healthy, fashionable living,” Grace expanded the line—from satin slaps/vibrant turbans to pillowcases and scrunchies—reaching over 400,000 customers worldwide. Carried by Ulta, Amazon, JCPenney, and featured in Oprah’s Favourite Things, the brand proves haircare doesn’t have to be boring.

Driven by community feedback and elegant design, Grace continues inventing products that protect hair and style it, so every woman, man and child wakes up ready, with less frizz, fewer tangles, and more confidence.
