Founded in 2019 by Michelle Adepoju—a British-Nigerian artist turned designer—Kílẹ̀ńtàr is a love letter to West Africa’s rich culture and craftsmanship. Born from decades of vintage thrifting and a creative spirit, Michelle built the brand after travelling through Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, and beyond, immersing herself in the rhythms, dyes, and textures of local textiles.
Each limited-edition piece honours Yoruba heritage and centuries-old techniques, giving voice to artisans and their stories. The name itself, “kí lẹ̀ ń tà?” meaning “What are you selling?” in Yoruba, is a nod to open markets and honest craftsmanship.
